The European Fiscal Standards Association is an independent international organization designed to promote legal compliance, IT security and fraud prevention in the European fiscal sector. It does so through further development and distribution of the efsta standard for the documentation of business transactions required to be recorded within a framework of national and international guidelines.
Efsta coordinates the interests of its users with those of hardware and software manufacturers as well as the independent financial administrations of EU countries. It provides a forum for discussion and promotes inter-operability through standardized systems while ensuring data protection and highest possible data security.
The organization has its headquarters in Vienna.
The purpose of the association is to provide an accepted recording standard and to deliver uniform independent solutions for its practical application in accordance with cash register and billing software producers, financial administrations and trade associations.
Board of Directors - elected at the Annual General Meeting of the members.
Council - consulting committee consisting of representatives of financial administrations, associations, scientific research institutes etc., not required to be members of the organization.
